Bless your heart

Who doesn't love iPhone cases?

But let's be honest; if you think they are handmade, you are an utter retard.

That being stated, let's move on, shall we? Because I have a great post for you today.

So, get shitfaced on cheap sake and follow me to Asia, where pink is holy, gold rhinestone crosses are hot & the glue guns be drippin'.

This Treasury was lovingly created by my friend, who also curated the Diversity Treasury. I love her.

But that's not all. Nope. Not even close.
As our sender-inner remarks: "Some people are truly irony impaired".
Because we haven't gotten to the best bit yet! Watch closely:

I don't know about you, but I died a little on the inside. More sake, please!

Diversity

As Etsy grows daily, resellers are thriving. And how sad this may be, sometimes it's also nice to have a little fun with it. One of our friends made this beautiful Treasury:

Diversity - a Treasury

Here is a screenshot, in case you do not wish to open Etsy for boycotting reasons or if you don't want to spend the afternoon crawling your way back out of this reseller maze:

Feel free to use this blogpost to report these shops. And do you have something to report? Let me know via etsyreseller@gmail.com and also add me to your circle! As far as I'm concerned, I am not done raging yet. I have only just begun...

Not remotely handmade. Or vintage.

Exactly. Another Etsy seller is fed up. With good reason.
As resellers flourish, seller morale drops.

I do believe Etsy has reached an ultimate low.
That being said, I think there are several ways Etsy can turn their venue around.

My first suggestion would be to personally check each shop BEFORE opening. Which would save a lot of time and frustrations, trying the weed out the enormous amount of resellers already residing on Etsy.

Anyway, back to our Etsy seller. She sells wonderful items, but they are being pushed back to page 15 immediately after publishing. Why? Are her tags not good? Maybe it's her title?

No. Nope. It's another problem.

Resellers!

This time, there is a new trend in handmade jewelry. Or should I say "vintage handmade beautiful gold free shipping retro gold lion modern necklace"?

That's right. Lion necklaces. Anyone interested?

Here are the shops where you can buy with confidence, it's "unique"!

Now, I am not going to blow smoke up resellers asses by giving them free traffic. I am going to post screen shots of the cheap junk they are selling. Here we go!

I am going to close this thread now and remember; DON'T CALL OUT!

UPDATE: Reseller Rachel from the shop "jewelry4fab" has let me know that she has deactivated her listing!

Right now

Okay, let's just do this right now. Word needs to be spread about this.

I received a message from another Etsy seller who is also very frustrated that we are now almost 15 8 years into Etsy and nothing has been done so far to keep the resellers out. Etsy has been promising us time & time again things will change, but they don't.

Things just get worse.

Here are some lovely examples I received today.

Anyone interested in some handmade necklaces? Well, these are all "unique" & "handmade"!

We have the following shops:

And I bet my sweet ass you already know what all these shops have in common? Exactly.

RESELLERS!

But how do you know? Well, they ALL sell the same necklace. I know, right.

"They've handmade it with love and care", which is Chinese slang for: buy on AliBaba, put on Etsy and don't give a shit.

Some more screencaps, since it is so much fun!

Apparantly all you need these days to make a quick buck is a Creditcard & some Photoshop skills. And while you are at it, here is the link to the Alibaba necklace, just in case you need some extra cash:

Oh & a quick word of advice to the Etsy resellers: rename your item, if you are stupid enough to resell something which is probably produced by a large slave labor factory.

The New Etsy Reseller Blog!

After seeing yet ANOTHER reseller pop up on Etsy with 602 bracelets priced at $3 each, I had enough. I have been an avid reader of the Regretsy blog for years, but unfortunatly it is no longer active.

While Googling for a place where I could call out the resellers I have found (since Etsy isn't doing ANYTHING about it & has some vague statements about "collectives"), I did indeed found some blogs, but they are all no longer active.

So here it is! The New Etsy Reseller Call Out blog! Please feel free to send me everything you have found about resellers, pictures, names, shops, products, I want everything.

So, here is the one that drove me over the edge. A stack of bracelets in different colors. The first shop is called "dailyideas" (which means they just steal shit & mark it as being handmade):

Aweeee, isn't that cute? Then I copied the image link of one item and went to Google. Clicked "Images" on top. Clicked the little camera in the searchbox. Pasted in the URL of the item. Hit search and tada: mass produced junk.

Because another shop on Etsy is selling the EXACT same shit. Here it is:

And yes; I have reported both & sent them both a message:

Hello,
You are selling exactly the same items as this shop:

[Etsy shop URL]

Might want to check up on that, I think you both have the same supplier :)
Keep up the "handmade" work!

Love

Not that it will matter, but hey! One can always dream!

PS: not kidding, send me everything you've got!
